"Shake it like a Polaroid picture"

Farewell, Adieu, Toodle-oo…GOODBYE Polaroids!

Who doesn’t love the spontaneous snap and the rigorous fanning of the instant photo?

Just for the record
, that’s a false statement: The image actually develops as a result of the chemical reaction. Fanning the photo doesn’t really make a difference with how quick the photo finishes. But who really cares, I still do it haha

The accessibility of the quick photo, and the enjoyment of passing the photos around at parties are sadly coming to a halt. Rumors of the discontinuation of Polaroid Film in 2009 are unfortunately true. I find it pretty depressing and quite dumb that this is happening. I’m bummed! If I understood this correctly, I’m assuming the consumers aren’t purchasing anymore Polaroid Film due to the discontinuation of the camera a while back? Also due to our tech-savvy world, where we are obsessed with the even more convenient photos produced by the digital camera the Polaroid company isn't racking any new buyers. This is quite an outrage, for 80 years striving photographers, amateur artists, would be able to retrieve their work in 3 minutes tops!

But hey, lets not mourn over this, Polaroid is coming up with an updated version of the classic with a nifty Polaroid Pogo. I’m actually fond of the little thing, this actually lets you share images from your mobile devices or camera and lets you print them instantly, 90 seconds to be exact.

But yeah, nothing beats the original. I will miss Polaroid Film dearly and will stock on the super expensive film… gosh that’s a definite thing I won’t miss… $16+ for a pack of 10 photos, $2 bucks per shot, deng. Besides the rape prices, I will miss the intimate, nostalgic, authentic, and the image boxed in by the classic white frame :]

PIMPLES BE-GONE!

Hey party animals! New Year has passed and now I'm back to my pointless blogs haha aren't you just thrilllled?! Just kidding not like anyone really reads this huh?

First off let me ask you something..
Have you ever had those times when you were just chilling and then all of a sudden... you brush your fingertips on your face and lo and behold A FREAKING PIMPLE!
Where the heck did that come from?? It wasn't there 2.5 seconds ago.
Blemishes are just outrageous huh.

So back to my story... I woke up, didn't really wanna get up cuz my room was suprisingly warm this morning! Got up, did the usual routine, but then I noticed something on the crevice of my bed. Can anyone guess what I found??
My Aloe Vera drink! :]]

Lately I've been breaking out like a mofo and it's probably due to
- dryness of the atmosphere, (winter grr)
- sleeping super late
- not eating the proper foods (holiday yumminess..grr)
-the lack of hours I spend in the gym
- makeup. gahh!

Hmm is that all? Other than the qustionable Filipino myth, if you have a major break out you prolly are falling in love... I find all the other factors possible. Reading that list is pretty depressing, cuz I shouldn't be having spots on my face, I'm out of puberty.. right?? Haha doesn't look like it. Okay so back to the list, I can totally prevent these babies from sprouting but I chose not to.. But the other day I was with the ladies, and I noticed Abee drinking something out of a tall green bottle. I took a closer look at it and saw clear jelly substances floating in it. "What the..?" "Is that you're mucose?" Haha confused, Abee explains that its Aloe Vera Juice.
Aloe whatta?
Aloe Vera!

(Supposedly it's known to be the mother of natural recovery and a versitile skin treatment. )Transcribed in my own words, Pimple Obliterator! Zit Zapper! =CLEAR FACE

In reference to:
Aloe Vera is packed full of the nutrients your body needs - inside and out - to feel GREAT and look AMAZING.
Some of the magical powers of this hocuspocus drink are of the following

Detox
Aloe vera juice is a great natural aid to detox. With our stressful lives, the pollution around us and the junk foods we eat, we all need to cleanse our systems from time to time. Some people more often than others! Drinking aloe vera juice provides a fantastically rich cocktail of vitamins, minerals and trace elements to help our bodies deal with these stresses and strains everyday.

Collagen and Elastin Repair for Healthy Skin
Drinking aloe vera juice adds a rich supply of raw materials to your diet, which can produce and maintain really healthy skin. The skin replaces itself every 28 days. Using the nutritional building blocks of aloe vera, the skin can use these nutrients daily to help combat the effects of ageing. Aloe vera also helps in soothing minor burns, cuts, scrapes and skin irritations.

Regulate Weight and Energy Levels
Drinking aloe vera juice naturally allows the body to cleanse the digestive system. Our diets include many substances which can cause fatigue and exhaustion. Taken regularly, aloe vera juice ensures a greater feeling of well-being, allowing energy levels to increase and helps maintain a healthy body weight.

Amazed by the powers Abee and Angela were describing to me, I easily got tempted to purcha$e and chug down that baby!
So you know what we did...?
Went to Kam Man and bought 2 big bottles of Aloe Vera Juice!

Tastes super good, let's see it work its magic :]
But I have to realize I still need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, get the efficient amount of sleep, apply face cream religeously, and most of all no gauging the little buggers out (they're just gonna spread)

2009 HERE WE COME!!

"Happy New Year! See you on the other side"

Happy New Year!

This year has been amazzing!! Probably met the best people so far this year, and I'm stoked to think about the many more people I will encounter in 2009. I always liked New Years, I'm amazed how far and how much I've grown this year. Take the time to reflect, look at who you are and who you consider your "homeslice :]" Take a look at the people around you and who sort of melted into the background. People who were once you’re best friend last year may be your enemy this year.

Instead of looking back on this year in every detail,
appreciate the things that happened.
Keep the mind focused on what's to come.
No need to look back,
it's called the past for a reason...

Change is expected to happen this year, especially with the epidemical scare of recession and the crumbling state of our economy, something will happen, bad or good, we will all be affected by it one way or another. In reference to thuy, like the change you receive after breaking a bill, no one ever really likes it. But it’s better to make the most of it then to dwell on the past. The negative changes always makes you a stronger and better person, and eventually it will develop into something positive. It may not be the outcome you expected, but these days you should never expect your plans to always work out. Crap just doesn’t happen, it happens for a reason, and it's up to you to make the best of it.

So if a complication swings your way, rather than approaching the challenge evasively, confront it head on. Nothing beneficial will come out of anything if you keep your head down low and mouth shut. Strive for what you want, the path may be tough but it's worth the honest try. Live life to the fullest. The world would be so much better if we truly took advantage of the opportunities that come our way.

New Years Resolution(s)?
- UHHHH permit sounds nice.
- Definitely keep away from the drama
(that definitely shoulda been saved for your momma)
-Lose 50 pounds...
haha sike but no,
real talk
I needa cut down on the sweets,
I have the biggest sweet tooth EVERR known to man!
- Realize what’s really worth it.
-Prioritize Prioritize Prioritize! (Need I stress it more?)
-Make the best of everything.
-Have an optimistic eye on the world,
no time to be all Debbie Downer these days.

Wrapping it all up, I hope everyone has a HAPPY DAPPY FAPPY SAPPY DAY!
But ultimately be safe and have a freaking awesome New Years!

Maligayang Pasko

LOL aren't I FOBulous? but anyways Merry Christmas!

So it’s Christmas day and I’m hoping everyone is enjoying themselves :] Last night we had our little Christmas Eve get together, it was enjoyable, singing karaoke, eating food, laughing and all that fun stuff haha. It was really nice having the family together just kicking it while we listen to the next karaoke star, I’d have to admit Chelle’s Last Christmas was pleasing but nothing couldn’t beat Ate Josiely’s heart touching ballads.. bahaha.. -_-‘ cough But after the opening of the gifts, picture taking, need I mention the blinding orbs still flash when I blink, devouring everything in site, and singing the night away.. I knocked out on the couch. But when I woke up in my bed all confused and still in my clothes from the night before, I just laid there and just thought.. about stuff. Rethinking and reminding myself why I resented Christmas. While I was in mid-thought, I stopped. What the heck? I shouldn’t hate Christmas because of that move.

I should be blessed to have such a wonderful loving family. A family that will be there for you, make you laugh till you have rock hard abs, listen to your voice even though it’s not the best, and even share a few bites of his caramel apple disregarding how unpleasant I am to him (EJ) haha I have a mother who works her booty off but still manages to bring Christmas spirit with decorations, stockings for the kids, delicious food, and good vibes wearing a reindeer headband regardless how absurd it looked. A father who keeps the house warm and one who strives to keep the family together. Siblings including Charmander :]who always have my back even through the ridiculous stunts I’ve done while testing how far their buttons can be pushed. So yeah this Christmas was joyous and merry :]] So take careee everyone and have a merry&safe christmassss!

the spirit of christmas

Well as you all know Christmas is coming up! Everyone is super happy and in the spirit.. to be jolly falalala la la la. haha okay lemmi stop. But unfortunately for me I haven’t been in the spirit for a good amount of years. Sad… I KNOW! I would hum the occasional Christmas song when I hear it but once I see the jumbo ornaments and light drip fixtures at the malls I can't help but to look down and cringe.

So what’s the reason why I despise this holiday so much, you may ask??
Well Christmas used to be one of my favorite holidays of the year, besides Halloween, and my birthday of course ;) But anyways, my family on my mother’s side would always get together at my Auntie Sonias house. Usually all my cousins from California would swing by and we would do all sorts of fun things, catching up, and just laugh and tease the night away. Christmas would satisfy all my senses, Food was always good since my auntie was probably the greatest cook, no offense mommma dukes :]The super succulent fumes would prance around the house and made everyone’s mouths water. Just thinking back on how appetizing her dishes looked makes me wanna lick my lips. Haha. And you think that sounds good? My Uncle Corny would have major Beetles jam sessions downstairs in his basement. Everyone would crowd around while he would strum on his guitar and belt out classic Beetles tunes. *When I sit waiting for the train, my ipod is left on shuffle and when a Beetles song "Something" plays, I smile to myself and think of Christmas again.* Once the clock struck 12 I would remember all the loud voices and the site of everyone smiling while they give and receive. An ocean of colorful gift wrapping flowed through the floor and surrounded our legs along with bows, ribbons and more debris.

*another memory was when one Christmas when we went out to Foxwoods and opened "Secret Santa" gifts but i wasn't allowed to :/ it was for the older cousins, but it was still hilarious seeing what they all got each other.*

SEEE? I had the Christmas spirit at one time :] but all the joyful moments came to an end when one year my auntie and uncle moved to Las Vegas... and since most of the Hermida Family now lived on the West Coast there were no more Christmas visits here on the East.

So... that’s the reason why I resent the season so much. But hey, things happen, times change, so I guess I have to stop being a Grinch and have it upon myself to try and make an effort to open my mind and appreciate the goodness of Christmas.
